If there a way to configure the PRTG server to answer to a DNS name and not IP address? I'm used to configuring Windows Server IIS with host names so anyone just typing the IP address of the server wont see the login page. So I'm looking for a way to configre the server to only respond to a DNS name and not the IP address assigned to the unit.
Thanks!

Thank you for your response... Yes, I found that page the other day before I posed this. What I was wondering is now that it has a DNS name can I turn off it responding to the IP address? The PRTG server will respond to both the IP address alone, and also the DNS name. We're on a university public network and get scanned from outside sources all the time. We normally configure all of our web servers to respond to DNS only, and not the IP address. This way someone scanning us can't find the sites we host.
Can I configure PRTG to not respond to the DNS name and NOT the IP address?

Hi,
I'm afraid that is not possible from stock. The only solution to this may be to proxy the PRTG webserver with a full scale webserver like Apache or IIS.

Hi,
to make the PRTG Server respond to a DNS name rather than a IP address, please open "Setup"-> "System & Website" Settings and put your DNS name to the "DNS Name" field there.
Best regards
