We have problems sending email notifications, we are using the built-in smtp server for PRTG.

Getting messages in the notification logs: Status sending Email:No DNS Server found

When i do a nslookup, i can succesfully resolve domain names.

Did you check your network settings? What's the default server when you do nslookup?
