I have some custom scripts which use the http content sensor (ie, return a numeric value).
Most of these scripts do some SQL work and return a count. Now the problem I have is that I do not want to place these custom sensors on the database where the count is done.
I would much rather have then in a custom group (let's say a group called 'customer application checks') and link the sensors under that group. Unfortunately I cannot add a sensor to a group, I need a device to place the sensor on. Is there some way I can do this or not?

Hi Torsten,
Thanks for your reply. Is there any dummy device available currently in PRTG? (like the Green sensor which is a dummy sensor) I could ofcourse add the core probe device again and run it from there but I just wanted to be sure.
Kind regards,

I'm sorry I wasn't precise enough, with 'dummy'-device I meant simply adding a device with a non-sense IP/Hostname.

Hello,
sensors need to be under a device, this can't be changed. In case the sensors don't need the IP/Credentials from the parent device, you could create a "Dummy"-device though.
best regards.
