Hi, everyone

I know there are technical limitations, as pointed out by support, but I still think there should be a way for each PRTG user to be able to do his own backup/export of sensors. My admin who takes care of PRTG installation has backups, but Id feel safe having a personal backup just of a specific login in PRTG (mine).

Do you agree? At least some XML so that it can be reconstructed, you can move it to other server, whatever, just the fact of being able to have my own backup would be appreciated...

Thanks.

Hello,

once again, exporting a configuration, even if it's only a part will include object IDs which are most likely already used in another PRTG setup. Creating then a config with IDs that refer to more than one object will cause nothing but troubles. And it's not possible to 'remove' the IDs in the 'partial export' and fill them simply with new IDs in case of an 'import' as this will most certainly remove relations for reports, maps etc..

best regards.

I understand the technical difficulties, still, we would expect a per user backup of sensors... Its a basic feature thats really important.

We have several cases where users delete sensors and we have to restore the entire server backup, causing quite a mess.

What Ive done for certain users is export as such:

http://monitor.xxx.net/api/table.xml?content=sensortree&output=xml

This brings a detail of all sensors, but not their actual content that is being monitored, Im trying to see if I can achieve that.

Thanks.
