I read the specification here : https://www.paessler.com/prtg/requirements.

It is mentioned XP or later as officially supported host OS.

I would install the PRTG (V8) Probe on a Windows 2000 Server. Does it means, that it could work but that this setup is not supported by your services? Or does the OS lack some component (.net, ...)?

it's generally not possible to install and run a PRTG Probe on Windows 2000, the installer performs a check of the Windows version and will cancel if anything older than XP is detected. This is of course due to missing functionality on Windows 2000.
