When I use WMI Sensor to connect and read drive space on a Windows 2008 R2 STD server, it is showing an incorrect value for free space.

please be assured that PRTG does not 'invent' monitoring results. It simply 'passes' on which ever numerical result it gets to the WMI Query from the targets WMI/DCOM, which in most cases works reliable. But sometime the values are wrong (or even invalid, which we try to catch), and sadly there is very little we can do.
If this happens frequently you could try the other WMI Disk Sensor (Single Drive), or maybe put a remote probe on this host, or consider using SNMP to monitor this host.
