Ping interval

I am using the Ping Sensor and sending 20 pings per interval. I looked at the pings on the end device and there about 6 pings per second. Some devices see these rapid ICMP requests as a DoS attack and and drop some pings skewing my PRTG stats. Is there a way to slow the ICMP requests down? Maybe 1 per second or something?
