Hi! I have 3 days that are giving me alarms and warnings:
1 .- Devices send incosistent counter data ....
2 .- WMI request timed out

I have looked at the link https://www.paessler.com/knowledgebase/en/topic/1093-my-wmi-sensors-show-errors-with-a-pe-code-what-does-that-mean but I am not clear.

I have installed XP SP3 PRTG a 3GB of RAM and up these days has no problems (not updated the OS) that proffers do?, Alarms saturate technicians.

I'm being tested to see whether or not to buy the software, but makes many errors like this can not happen.

Thanks

Hello,

for the first issue, please try switching to the "Alternative Query" in the sensors "Settings"-tab and see if that does help. For the second issue, please try using longer scanning intervals, and also please see if you can distribute the sensors over several remote probes.

Best Regards.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
1 .- How do I set WMI Query to Alternative?
2 .- How do I create remote probes??

Thanks

Hello,

1. Not all WMI-Sensors have an alternative query but those who have, there you can enable it in the "Settings"-tab of the sensor. The WMI CPU Load sensor for example has an alternative query.
2. Please see https://www.paessler.com/manuals/prtg8/add_remote_probe.htm

Best Regards

But he believes we need remote probes in a LAN to 1GB??

The problem is not about the theoretical bandwidth-capabilities of your network, it's about the WMI Performance of the target hosts (which doesn't stand in any relation to the aforementioned bandwidth-capabilities).
