Is there a way to turn OFF visual alerting of sensors?

If a sensor in a specific group goes down, we don't want a visual alert on the device, but yet rely on an email alert to the customer.

I'm afraid that isn't possible. If a sensor fails or enters a down state it will always depict the sensor state visually. There are no future plans to change this, sorry.
