Will the GUI still be customized after update to version 8?

I've customized the GUI of version 7.3.5.5802 by changing the html files. Now I want to update to version 8.1.2.1709. What will happen to my changes? Usually I just overwrite the original html files with my customized ones after installing the new version.

There were substantial changes to the WebGUI during the development of version 8, as you may be aware. It is not very likely that your changes for V7 will work on V8 without problems, but I can not make a prediction without knowing what you have actually changed.

But you should plan for some time to adapt V8 for your needs.
