Why do I get an AUTH error when trying to send an email notification in PRTG 6?

When I try to send a volume notification email I get an error in the log file. * Incorrect state for AUTH. *

I get the same error when I do a test on the sensor. I am using enterprise edition V6.2.1

I have checked my email settings, and I am sure the authentication is set correctly
