I have a couple of VM machine sensors active and a SNMP switch traffic sensor. I noticed that there is a sums row available at the SNMP traffic sensor screen witch shows the total network traffic of an individual port on the switch. At the VM machine sensor page only an averages row is available witch shows the network traffic details of an individual VM. You cannot see the total amount of network traffic that was transferred / received by the VM. Is it possible to at a sums row? maybe within the configuration file? If it is possible please provide an example.

Hello,

we would recommend to use a report for this, so you could see the total traffic created by the VM per month for example.

Best Regards.

The only problem is that the VM machine report doesn't contain the sums column. See the screenshot below. Only the average column appears on the report. http://www.thef4.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/prtg-sums-screen2.jpg

also, the sums fields are missing on the graph / stats screen. Only the speed column are visible but no volumne columns: http://www.thef4.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/prtg-sums-screen1.jpg

I'm looking for the sums fields as shown in this screenshot from the SNMP sensor http://www.thef4.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/prtg-sums-screen3.jpg

Is it possible to add the sums fields to the graph / stats screen of the VM Machine sensor(s)

The problem is here that these are different sensor types. The SNMP Sensors are delta-sensors and therefore can have a volume calculated. Which is not possible for the VM ware sensors.
