I'm unable to install the 64bit probe. I would like to do this because i'm getting out of memory errors running the 32bit version.

I have PRTG Network Monitor 19.1.48.2811 [Preview] x64 the system is a VM with 24 GB of memory installed. I've followed the steps in https://helpdesk.paessler.com/en/support/solutions/articles/760000635115033-64-bit-download and https://helpdesk.paessler.com/en/support/solutions/articles/70426-i-thought-i-had-switched-to-64-bit-prtg-but-no

Still, my task manager is showing PRTG Probe (32bit). Am I missing something? Also, why not give the option to the end user at installation like most programs?

Dear njohnson,

thanks for your KB posting.

Please note that the PRTG Probe service is a pure 32bit service which is not available as 64bit version.

Nevertheless, the "out of memory" error messages indicate problems in the configuration. Do you operate a lot of EXE sensors which drive the memory consumption upwards?

Within our recommendations, the probe service should never need more than 1-2 GB RAM, which is why the 4 GB available with 32bit should always be sufficient.
