Hi,
I am realy new to prtg, and try to make a sense of the bandwidth monitoring of prtg. I have a server 2008 R2 SP1, I have setup a snmp V2 sensor and also Windows NIC sensor for the same server. For the snmap the setting is to use 64 bit version. I left the prtg to collect data for a 24 hours. now the strange part. when I check the data that have been collected by the 2 sensors, I see 2 very different bandwidth usage!! also the snmp showing that sensor is is 32 instead of 64.
So why 2 sensor for the same server show 2 very different value?
Thanks

Thanks for your update,
Sorry some difference is understanble, but 183 GB difference is not just some difference.
The SNMP Traffic 32bit shows
Traffic Total (volume)
304,172 MByte
For the time span the Windows NIC sensor shows:
122,146 MByte

Hello,
Then we will need some screenshots and information about the sensors settings. Please open a support ticket and we will continue troubleshooting there. Please refer to this KB article in the ticket.
Thanks

Hello,
Please note that Windows only supports 32-bit SNMP Counters, which could result in incorrect measurements in some cases.
Please also keep in mind that WMI and SNMP are different protocols/data-sources, so some differences are indeed expected. You might also see differences when comparing CPU Usage, Memory usage or Disk Usage using SNMP vs WMI.
Best regards
