After replacing a Device, we have to create the new Device in PRTG. In most cases, the old Device cannot be deleted because of traceability of the historic data (such as Bandwidth, uptime …). Actually, the old Device must be set in “indefinitely pause” mode to avoid Notifications. So there are a lot of paused sensors which in fact are inactive or archived. Because of this, we don’t have an overview about all the paused Sensor/Device and we have no chance to check all of them if the paused-status is correct or if one of the paused device should be monitored.
It would be great to get a new status “inactive or archived” to keep the historic data of a replaced device (which should not be listed under paused device).
Hi there,
Thank you very much for the request.
To be honest with you, there are no plans to implement a new object status like 'archived' or similar in future. However, feel free to raise an official feature request in our kb.
Please see this post to find out how this can be achieved to also allow other users vote for it.
Thank you very much in advance.
