Hello, I found an article on how to do this on a Windows server with a custom sensor, however nothing on Linux (DebianOS) side.
Any help on how I can best monitor if a USB dongle disconnects from a linux system? We do have some dongles which seem to have random disconnects so we would like to monitor that
Many thanks in advance

Hello there and thank you for your inquiry.
There is no built-in sensor capable of this. But from PRTG's perspective, if this information is somehow made available via SNMP, it should be possible to monitor it with one of the available Custom SNMP Sensors.
If should be possible to extend the SNMP implementation of net-snmp to run a bash script for example. Please refer to:
Beware however that this refers to configuration on the monitored device, not on PRTG. We can only provide limited instructions or assistance regarding the set-up of your device. If you need help with this we encourage you contact the vendor of the device (or OS in this case) instead. Once the information is made available via SNMP, feel free to contact us if you require assistance with the SNMP Setup inside PRTG.
