Hi, we are using a map for supporting our production automation team.

The user asks if it's possible that the size of a status symbol (Status only (transparent background, XL)) can be bigger if state is not in OK? Let say if the Sensor is in failure the symbol can be 2x bigger...

Per default, it is not possible to automatically re-size map objects in case of error or certain sensor states. You might be able customize something yourself, but please note that this approach will not be supported by our technical support.
