I have an 8 CPU server running PRTG, however the Probe service only runs the majority of its run-time on a Single Core. Can I install a Remote Probe on the same server to distribute the Load across more CPU Cores?
A "Local" Remote Probe for want of a better description.

Hi Felix - it turned out to be an issue with the host the PRTG Server VM was on, thankfully fixed now. That said the Probe service does seem to prioritise the use of one CPU core over the rest. It doesn't seem to be fully multithreaded to take advantage of all of the cores at its disposal.

Hi there,
Installing two probes on the very same host is not possible. Please check if the CPU cores are on the same socket, or at least on two sockets.
If you navigate to the Probe Device in PRTG and open the Probe Health Sensor, what's the average CPU utilization? Or better to ask, where exactly do you see an issue in your installation?
Best regards, Felix
