So I do fresh install of PRTG and it immediately goes of and scans the whole network without asking, setting off a bunch of network alarms and filling my fresh install with data I don't want. I have a very specific use for PRTG in mind, and initially only want it monitoring one device. Over time this will expand to several other devices but it will never be used for the entire network.

Is it possible to do a fresh install without all automatic scanning/discovery?

Simply start the installer with the switch /NoInitialAutoDisco=1 :)
