Hi there, has anyone had any experience with creating a Juniper Real-time monitoring sensor on PRTG? any help would be appreciated

Article Comments

Hi there,

Thanks for your inquiry, we appreciate your contact regarding this matter!

PRTG offers no real-time monitoring, it scans data in fixed intervals. You can configure a low interval to make it close to "real-time", but low intervals can cause delays, if the data is not transmitted in time.

We have one preconfigured sensor for Juniper NS.

For other values, please download and use MIB files from Juniper directly and implement them in PRTG. Please use this manual to import MIBs.

For any further questions or issues, we're glad to help.

Kind regards,

Hi Birk, thanks for the reply. So i am not looking for real time monitoring on PRTG and we do have intervals setup to monitor the devices, The juniper RPM is the eqivalent of Cisco IP SLA and i have seen a sensor for it so was wondering if there was the same for the juniper version as the Cisco sensor does not work with it

Hi,

Cisco and Juniper devices have different OIDs. That's why it can not work that way. Unfortunately, there is no sensor of this type already prepared for Juniper devices. However, you can get these values from the corresponding MIB file.
