Hi,

@Moderator: Please delete my previous thread, I could solve that error message.

I wanted to add the REST Dell EMC Dateisystem Sensor to monitor Unity filesystem usage but when trying to add it I receive the message: No Objects for monitoring found.

Our unity does contain one pool and multiple filessystems and I was able to add the REST Dell Capacity sensor, only the filesystems sensor wont work.

PRTG Network Monitor 18.1.38.11934 x64 Unity OS: 4.2.2.9632250

Any ideas?

Best regards, Sascha

Dear websas,

please run this command:

smcli.exe 127.0.0.1 -c "show AllPhysicalDisks summary;" -quick -S -e

Please replace "127.0.0.1" with the real IP.

Please send a screenshot of the output to support@paessler.com, including a description of the issue.

Hi Arne,

thank you for your response.

I guess I have a pretty dumb question as I never used smcli before:

Where do I run this command? (on my local win7 pc, on the windows server on which prtg is installed or on the emc filer I want the sensor for)?

Do I need to install smcli first? Because I tried running that command in the cmd / via ssh on all of them but that didnt work, because smcli.exe is unknown and I couldnt really find an download for the smcli...

Thanks, Sascha

Dear websas,

I should have been more specific in the first place. On the PRTG probe which runs the sensor, please check the registry. If you have a 32 bit Windows:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\storage\SMclient

or if you have a 64 bit Windows:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\storage\SMclient

You should have a variable "Path" in that key, which should point to SMCLi.exe.

The probe is a 64bit windows server, but the path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\storage\SMclient

does not exist - neither does:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\storage\SMclient

The \storage key/directory is not visable on both of them.

Any ideas?

Dear websas,

I just noticed that I mixed up the sensor type in question. I am sorry for the confusion!

Debugging the Rest sensor type can be more complex. Please check if your EMC provides a Rest API. If yes, but the sensor cannot be created, please contact support@paessler.com about this. Please include a screenshot of the error message.
