Hi guys,

I would like to ask you about the outcome result of the monitoring of an sensor.

This is a Ping Sensor configured with Multiple Ping Packets (please check the attached image). My question :

What does it mean the lines with no data in (please see the bottom marked yellow lines in the pdf file)? The percentage is 0% and still the Uptime statistics of the sensor is 100% up! If there was no connectivity of the monitored device during the time, should it be reflected to Downtime statistics? Also If there were packets loss they should be reported as packet loss or if all the packets are lost it should be reported as Downtime.

We have seen that whenever we have a Downtime the packet lost are not registering and its logical because the system can't monitor the Quality parameters of the service if there is no Service, but in this case it is not shown not in either!

Thank you

Article Comments

Hi,
The 0% coverage could be caused by a probe restart or the probe being unresponsive where simply no data is available. In this case showing downtime would be wrong as without any data PRTG can not tell if there has been any downtime or not. Therefore coverage is showing 0%.
Best regards
