Hi,
I am planning in building a cluster set up in our HA site. I will build a new core server, add it to the cluster and drag across all the probes and sensors I want to monitor. I then plan on making this new core the master and taking the current one offline. What I need to know is will the probes that the new cluster master monitors automatically detect that they now have to send their data to this node or will I have to manually change the IP address on each probe?
I would also like to know how adding a new core affects licensing. Will I require any new licenses for this scenario?
Thanks, James.
Hello,
Unfortunately, remote probes are not connectable to the failover (backup) node in the moment. The Clustered Remote Probe Feature is still on our wishlist, but I'm afraid I cannot give you an exact release-date/version in the moment.
With each license one single failover cluster setup, consisting of two nodes, is included. Cluster installations with two and three failover nodes will require one additional license of the same size. A cluster installation with four failover nodes will require two additional licenses of the same size.
