I am looking to move my core from a 2008 R2 to a 2012 R2. I have run across this article, but I want to make sure that I am not missing anything

I currently have the following configuration.

California -- Core PRTG on 2008 R2 -- I want to upgrade to 2012 R2 Texas -- remote probe on 2008 R2 I am adding another remote probe in a COLO in TX

So I am going to have 3 in total. 1 - 2012 core and 2 - 2008 Probes

I am licensed for up to 2500 sensors ad I am using about 1400.

How would I go about swapping out my main (2008 to 2012) prtg and then add another remote probe (colo) at the same time.

I would like to keep all of the sensor's history if at all possible,

The easiest way to do this will be to spin up the 2012, install PRTG, move the configuration over along with the Monitoring Database (for historical data), make sure that the remote probe settings are the same then point the remote probe(s) to the new core's IP or name and you should have the new PRTG server up and running with the same config and the history of your sensors on the local and remote probe.
