In our graphs, at every 1hour interval across all the sensors at remote locations the graph "cuts" or "dips" to 0 for a short second. Is that related to the SNMTP technology used on the core installation, or firewall related? eg. http://i.imgur.com/c1M5UMy.png?1

Please go to the PRTG device of the device this sensor is attached to. Open the device settings and the SNMP compatibiltiy options. You find the "Overflow handling" settings. Please change this setting.
Once you have saved the new settings, please perform a graph cache recaclulation.
The zero-value spikes should now be gone.
