Android probe functionality into Linux

Hi I really like the way the Android probe,once you have entered the details of the server into it, that the server alerts you to this, and then populates the server with the probe details/sensor availability. Do you see this functionality being made available when/if/scripted onto the likes of other devices-ala linux boxes like the Raspberry Pi's? It would be a great fire and forget drop in solution for remote monitoring
