I have installed PRTG monitor and would like to monitor a SNMP sensor outside my network, located in a different WAN (remote sensor). Is this possible and how to achieve this? Thank you.

What exactly is the problem with using a SNMP sensor for this remote device? If you can communicate with devices in the WAN you can still create a SNMP sensor within PRTG. If you can't, a separate probe in the WAN is probably the way to go. I think it would be helpful to have more information about your issue in order to provide a good answer.

Hi, my apologies for not explaining in detail. The first scenario, PRTG can monitor my SNMP sensor within the same network (same WAN). I send a GET and I can receive the response. In the second scenario, PRTG and the sensor are in different WANs and I cannot issue the GET because there is no connectivity. I cannot use the probes due to situation restrictions. Thank you.

First you have to get a connection between your PRTG instance and the device in the other WAN. The correct ways would be either to ask the device via SNMP directly or to have a probe in the other WAN delivering the results to you PRTG core. If none of those is an option, you could for example have some server/device in the remote WAN have the check executed and deliver the result instead of a probe, e.g. via SSH script. That would require an SSH connection instead of SNMP or PRTG's remote probe protocol. The options you have depend on what kind of connection you can make into the other WAN.
