hi , im using netflow 5 on cisco router

i recived the net flow from router , but its wronf values !!! on router the traffic is about 700Mbps , but on PRTG , it display only 200Kbps !!!!

how fix that ?

Dear DrVirus

Thank you for using PRTG. Which of the PRTG Netflow sensors are you using? Do you use any custom filter rule for that sensor?

hi , no filters yet it describe the traffic flow okay.

but not the speed traffic for each flow.

did u understand my question ?

Dear DrVirus

Please check your sensor settings and device settings. Are you using the correct sampling rate? Does the sensor listen to the correct port?

Please use a file download to induce traffic and check if you can see the traffic in the toplists. By default, toplists refresh every 60 seconds.

hi , thanks for reply sampling rate is 1

i dont know how will it help me ?

agian , i have cisco router and under that cisco interface i have load interval to be 30 seconds.

now if i use snmp , it works okay and calculate the speed perfectly.

but in netflow , it show me traffic classes percentage.

how i get both advantage of speed and traffic classification.

???

cheera

Dear DrVirus

Which Sampling rate did you set in the PRTG device configuration?

Jan, 2015 - Permalink

hi , sampling rate is 1

is that correct ? or wts the optimal value ?

thanks alot for your interest & time

Dear DrVirus

Please test if PRTG in principle recognizes the traffic.

Please use a file download to induce traffic and check if you can see the traffic in the toplists. By default, toplists refresh every 60 seconds.

hi , thanks for reply , but im sorry didnt understand you.

how to test prtg principle ???

also , which file download you are talking about ?

Dear DrVirus

Please download a file from anywhere, the only important thing is that the traffic must pass the port which you monitor with the NetFlow sensor. The download should also be large enough to have a visible effect on the toplists.

If you see the toplists change, the sensor gets the traffic in principle. If not, it looks like your sensor is listening to the wrong port.
