Monitor SMTP - IIS Server 2008

I am looking if possible to use PRTG to monitor a number of parameters on our SMTP servers.

We use the built in SMTP server in Window Server 2008 R2 SP1 and are keen to use PRTG to alert us should the queue size exceed a specific threshold, and also to provide us with some historical information relating to volume of messages processed on any given day etc.

What is the best way to approach this and is this something PRTG can easily handle?
