I have never had any problems with the auto-update function. But today it has been stuck writing dots to the screen for two hours.

"Please wait... After installation the login screen will appear automatically"

I have recently added a remote probe, could that be the problem?

If auto-update get stuck for a very long time without any other message than
"Please wait... After installation the login screen will appear automatically", please check if the Windows service "PRTG Core Server Service" is stopped.

If so, try to start the service. PRTG should then start as normal and be ready updated.
