Guys,
I am trying PRTG out and so for, so good. I cant complain; however, I dont know how to monitor if the listener of my oracle database is up. I believe i can sucessfully monitor my database by monitoring the load of my unix box, by tnsping, by deadlocks (sql statement) and also if the listener is up.
So, any ideas how to monitor oracle listener?

Yes, indeed, I need to know if the Listener is up. However, it is a linux (redhat) system. Any idea?
Cheers!

You could try using our Custom WBEM sensor and see if you can monitor the respective process.

Hello, I have the same question as I would like to monitor processes running on linux servers. May i know if i need to install SSH/WBEM on PRTG probe server in order to monitor these processes for linux servers ?

Hi,
no, you don't need to install anything on your PRTG probe server as PRTG brings its own ssh-components.
Kind Regards

What precisely do you need to monitor? If the Listener is running? If so, you could do so using a WMI service or process sensor.
