We are using SNMP Uptime sensors for all our MPLS sites as the method of determining whether they are up or not. I have notifications configured so that they only fire when a sensor is "down" for 300 seconds. Is it possible to config the sensor similarly so it does not go into a "DOWN" state unless it is down for a specified time or number of retries ? (like a "double knock" system). we are monitoring the sensors every 60 seconds.

Hi Declan,

you can configure a ping sensor as main object for your device. This sensor can ping multiple times whith a userdefined timing (max pause between pings 100ms) and only get down when all pings fail.

Second approach: A factory sensor with two snmp sensors per device, one at 60 sec, the second at 120sec. The factory sensor can be configured only to go down when both sensors fail.
