Dear Support,

There are some WMI sensors in our deployments (such as Windows CPU Load and WMI Free Disk Space) which at sometimes, have channels added to the sensor. As an example: a 1 CPU core target could suddenly display having 2 CPU cores (one more channel added). Re-adding the sensors could solve the issue but we are not satisfied as the historical data is scattered in different sensors.

Any hints causing such an issue? We are using PRTG Network Monitor 14.1.8.1371 x64

Thanks

Dear user

Some WMI requests get false data. PRTG does show what the request returns. This sometimes can result in having a fake CPU shown in the WMI sensor.

It is not possible to delete channels, but it is possible to hide unwanted channels: Please go to the sensor overview tab, hover the mouse over a channel and left click. This opens the channel configuration dialogue. Please check "Hide from Charts" and "Hide from Tables" and save.

The channel list below the channel floorplan still shows hidden channels.

Thanks for the reply

Would there be any method or procedure to be done to reduce the chance of false data coming from Windows?
