Hello,
I have 25 remotes probes and over 5000 sensors and the installation is slow.
I have read this: https://helpdesk.paessler.com/en/support/solutions/articles/76000041624-how-can-i-speed-up-prtgespecially-for-large-installations
But there is nothing about 2012.
My core server is a 2008r2.
Keep your 2008R2 if you have a lot of WMI sensors since 2012/R2 has significant performance issues (about 20% slower than 2008R2) with WMI requests. Otherwise, PRTG runs with no problems so far on 2012 :)
