Should the HTTP sensor timeout be shorter or longer than the scanning interval?

If I understand how they work correctly, it sounds like the scanning interval is how frequently the sensor "probes" for up/down/whatever. The HTTP timeout setting seems to be how long the sensor waits for an answer to this data probe. If that's correct, then the timeout should be shorter than the scanning interval, or else they "overlap". Is this correct?

Hello,

thank you very much for your KB-Post. Yes this is correct. A timeout in a sensor should always be shorter than the scanning interval.

best regards.
