I am using Windows Network Card sensor to monitor NICs. I found PRTG allways show "down" status for NIC WMI sensor for some servers while large network traffic. Actually, the traffic is just 1/3 of max. of NIC's full load. However, other sensors (CPU, Memory, etc.) on that server are showing normal.

Any setting can make it better and at least not show "down" status since it causing some fault alarm.

Thanks.

Which exact errors do you then get? Could you please send some screenshots showing the exact error messages on the sensors (from the "Overview"-Tab)? If the sensors are not in error-state right now, you can also check the "Log"-Tab of the sensor, to view previous error-messages.

Thanks.

When these cards are showing these error messages what is happening is that the network traffic is so large that the server cannot respond in time to the WMI request. You can try increasing the timeout for these sensors in the Windows Compatibility settings at the device level or increase the scanning interval which will also increase the timeout. Other than that though, there isn't much you can do to force Windows to give more priority to the WMI system.
