PRTG Version PRTG Network Monitor 13.4.6.3241 Apologies as I am new to this.
Is there an explanation for this. Sensor log see below. What is the reason for the delay from 12:49:23 until 12:50:47 for the State Trigger to activate?
24/10/2013 12:50:47 data 10.8.2.1 Notification Info State Trigger activated (Sensor/Source/ID: 2041/1/1) 24/10/2013 12:49:23 data 10.8.2.1 Down Request timed out (ICMP error # 11010) 24/10/2013 12:49:17 data 10.8.2.1 Warning Request timed out (ICMP error # 11010)

Thanks. OK snapshot of notification window for the device attached. This is where I think it gets a little confusing. My understanding is that the notifications are to generate emails/sms to groups.
What we are trying to work out is the state trigger of the status of a sensor on say the maps or device screen. A device may be down but at what point does the sensor change status.
For example we have the major devices monitored on a large screen. Notwithstanding what might be happening with email alerts we would like to understand what process or timings make them change status.

The sensor changes its state immediately. The notification (trigger becoming active) can be delayed though, about the "Latency" (for at least ... seconds), and additionally the timeout set for the sensor the trigger is set on.

Hello,
thank you very much for your KB-Post. The delay is most likely the "Latency" from the Trigger. How exactly is the Trigger set up? Can you upload a screenshot showing this please?
best regards.
