Hello,
I'm trying to add the Windows Update Status (powershell) sensor in PRTG but it's not showing up.
I'm guessing it's because I don't .Net Framework 4.0 installed on my PRTG machine (single server), but this is because it's running Windows Server 2012, which included .Net Framework 4.5 and can't be removed.
Were you able to get this sensor working with PRTG on Windows Server 2012?
Thanks.

Hello Torsten,
.NET 4.5 is installed by default (and cannot be remove) on Windows Server 2012 and I have tried to install .Net 4 standalone, but as specified on the link you've sent, get the error http://support.microsoft.com/Library/Images/2765374.jpg.
I'm not even sure if this issue is related to .NET 4?
Don't understand why I cannot see the Windows Update Status (powershell) sensor.
When I search for "windows update" in the sensor list, the only result is "Windows Last Update (Remote Registry), which also require .NET 4 but shows up fine.
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
-Jordan

Are you in a user group in PRTG that is not the "PRTG Administrators" or "PRTG Users Group"? Please bear in mind that new sensor types need to be approved for other user groups than those two default user groups.

Hello,
thank you very much for your KB-Post. Can you please try to install .Net 4 with the "Standalone Installer" as suggested by Microsoft. Does this work?
best regards.
