We use PRTG to display various graphs of traffic flow. The normal traffic flow follows a profile with high traffic hours and low traffic hours. We would like to send a notification from PRTG either to our alarm monitoring system or via e-mail notification.
We so far only manage to set this up using fixed threshold values. If the traffic level goes below (or above) this threshold, then a notification is sent.
Fixed thresholds are however not useful if the daily profile has big differences between peak our and low traffic hour. Therefore I would like to know how/if the following can be achieved: 1) Each of the day has a reference value (which is the average value for that time of the day taken from that our of the day for the last seven days). If the current value differs from this value to a certain extent, example it is 25% lower, then a PRTG notification is sent.
Hi,
you might have a look at the unusual detection for this purpose. You can set the same up to change the sensor status if predefined averages are not met for a certain time. Then you can just set up a State Trigger to get informed of the unusual status.
Best regards
