Hello, we are monitoring a Cisco ME 3800 switch with PRTG and noticed that periodically the System Health CPU Fan 1039 State changes from "Not present" to "Error in Fan 1039 State: 'Shutdown'".

Few questions:

1. What is this monitoring (OID)? 2. Why is it changing states?

You can check the OID that this sensor is using in the config file under that sensor ID. Once you have the OID, you can try using the SNMP tester to run regular scans and see what results come out. It may be that the SNMP system on the Cisco is reporting false information.

The configuration file is located in the data directory, as defined under the "Core Server" tab of the Server Administrator tool. The configuration file's name is "PRTG Configuration.DAT".
