Currently running root server on Server 2008 R2 x64 and looking to begin adding probes.
Which of the following scenarios is best for deploying new probes?
- Keep Server 2008 R2 x64 R2 Root Server, add Server 2012 Probe Server
- Keep Server 2008 R2 x64 R2 Root Server, add Server 2008 x64 R2 Probe Server
- Upgrade Server 2008 R2 x64 Root Server to Server 2012 and add Server 2012 Probe Server
Also, are there any updates regarding reports of slow WMI performance as mentioned in following link?

Thank you!
Hello,
thank you very much for your KB-Post. Our "real world" experiences show that Windows Server 2012 is very near on the WMI Performance of 2008 R2. So there is no reason to especially avoid one of them, and you can go the route that has the least maintenance work (in terms of upgrading Windows installations) for you. I would suggest 1. though.
best regards.
