We are using PRTG version 13.3.5.2685. We are running Windows 2012 SCVMM and have 11 hosts configured. We have set the scan time from 5 minutes to 10 minutes which did decrease the CPU load but every so often we still get these errors.

Unable to connect to the VMM management server localhost. The Virtual Machine Manager service on that server did not respond.Verify that Virtual Machine Manager has been installed on the server and that the Virtual Machine Manager service is running. Then try to connect again. If the problem persists, restart the Virtual Machine Manager service.

Is there any way to overcome this error in PRTG?

If the system is being overloaded by these sensors and they are throwing this error, the best recommendation would be to increase the scanning interval further or to build a remote probe to monitor these servers. The Remote Probe software comes free with your license and you are able to build as many as you'd like to help load balance the core server.
