Our broadband is Symetric broadband with bandwidth 4 Mb Upload/Download.
Today, we had done a Lync meeting and when we check the bandwidth usage of the Sonicwall Interface, we found that some of the total bandiwdth usage is reach 6 Mb!
Is that figure normal as 6 Mb is already out of our broadband limitation.

A) About the spike, it only appear when our broadband is heavily used. We found it when we are checking the bandwidth usage of the Video conference. If we set "Ignore Overflow Value" in the sensor setting, is there any problem to the data collected?
B) As I see the raw data collected is by per minutes, is the figure means the bandiwdth means: 1) bandwidth at that moment? 2) or average value of the minute? 3) or maximum value of the minute? The result of total volume in or out over 1 minute does not equal to the figure in the collected by PRTG. For example: Traffic Total (volume) = 30,793 KByte Traffic Total (speed) = 4,205 kbit/s But, Traffic total 30,793 *8 / 60 = 4,105
C) Also, I suppose "In Traffic" means the traffic going into the port and "Out Traffic" means go out of the port, is that right?

A) The data is collected the same way, only an overflow (return to 0 on the counter on the target device) is handled differently.
B) Is the average for this 1 minute in between the scans.
What are the exact timestamps for the two measurements. Were they exactly 60 seconds apart?
C) Usually that's correct and exactly this way, but this depends on the device, what it sets as "IN" and what as "OUT". PRTG just reads OIDs for the "IN"-Interface and the "OUT"-Interface, it's up to the device then to account traffic to the different counters (OIDs).

The two measurement is from the same time stamp.
That's why I asked about the meaning of the value of the speed is average value of the value of that time.
If it is average value, it should match with the traffic total volume/60 sec * 8
If it is not, there may have another explanation on the over bandwidth issue.
We will set the "Ignore Overflow Value" today and keep monitor the status.
