When I run a "Scan OIDLIB" in SNMP Tester (v5b11), I get the proper value for a specific OID as "-69", which is a dB measurement. When I use the OID in PRTG, I get an enormous value of "4294967226".

In the MIB Importer (v3.4.6a), it lists the OID as:

Source: Kind: Table Type: Gauge Unsigned (not checked) 64bit (not checked) float (not checked)

Value: Unit: Custom # Scale: 1 (divide)

Hello,

thank you very much for your KB-Post. Would it be possible to send us the MIB/OIDlib in Question? And also which exact OID you are referring to? Please send it via email to support@paessler.com

best regards.

Thanks Torsten, I do have it figured out now. When adding the custom SNMP sensor, I had to set the value type to Gauge, Signed. When the "unsigned" checkbox was not checked, I assumed then it that it must be signed.

In MIB Importer, the following information is seen: MIB Importer

As soon as I created a new SNMP Custom sensor with the value type set as Gauge, Signed, it returned the proper value.

Thanks, Matt
