A few days ago we had an outage in the company network due to a vendor's maintanence, during this time, PRTG would have sensed the outages starting at midnight but was unable to tell us because outbound SMTP would have queued them up. Once service was restored, we were inundated with a mixture of up/down pages that were stuck in queue and thus out of order. We ended up turning off the notifications for those sensors but even after that we kept getting them. Is there anything besides setting up an schedule to pause the monitors before the actual outage happens to control this kind of behavior?
Thanks.

Hello,
was your Mailserver down as well in that maintenance period?
Generally, it is recommended to work with Schedules & Dependencies, and maybe pause notifications manually before such maintenance windows in your network.
best regards.
