I have noticed recently that the snmp traffic graphs for my Cisco 7206VXR show continual dropouts. The graphs resemble something like a heartbeat and it shows up on all active interfaces, 4 DS3's and 2 GigE's. I was getting ready to upgrade from a NPE-G1 to a NPE-G2 so I figured I would wait to see if the upgrade changed anything but it did not. I would assume that if all my interfaces were losing all traffic every 10 to 15 minutes I would notice significant problems throughout my network but I'm not. Although I have not ruled out a hardware/software problem with the Cisco.

Is this possibly some sort of snmp configuration problem or possibly a buffer problem? I'm looking for any suggestions that may come to mind.

Hi Kevin,
as from your description, this might be a 32bit counter overflow issue. Please see this article which addresses this issue.
Did the mentioned steps help resolving the same?

Selecting "Handle overflow values as valid results" solved the problem.
