XML/REST sensor using HTTP POST

Are you able to perform a POST with the XML/REST sensor? The REST service I'm monitoring requires POST params and I don't see a way to do that using the XML/REST sensor. I tried the HTTP Advanced monitor because it allows a POST but I can't specify the Content-Type anywhere. I must specify Content-Type:application/xml or application/json in order for the service to work. Suggestions???
