PRTG couldn't trace MySQL Data using SQL-Expression which from Linux OS (Centos). Hook up to Windows based MySQL, PRTG is able to track MySQL but not in any Linux platform. However, PRTG is able to track SNMP traffic without an issue.
I have swapped different MySQL at different Linux Platform, but no luck. Is there a limitation on PRTG?

Hi,
I'm afraid it is not possible to monitor MySQL versions bigger than 5.1 with this version of PRTG. MySQL changed the authentication algorithm and therefore we changed PRTG version 9 to fit the new requirements.
So you will have to update your PRTG to monitor MySQL in the version you are using.

Hi, Thanks for replying. Hm... sound strange because PRTGv8 is able to trace MySQL v 5.5 (windows based)

Hi,
the issue is filed also as bug in MySQL. Whereas from the discussion it is not clear whether the issue really originates from a bug or from a change in the authentication resp. creation of password hashes.
As PRTG 8 uses old dlls (equal to pre 4.1 clients) to access MySQL and it is working on windows the OLD_PASSWORDS variable might be set in the config of the same.
