Is consider a backup, the copy of installation folder of PRTG?

I'm going to update my PRTG Installation from v7 to v12, but as an intermediate step it is recommended to update to the las v8 and to backup all data. But i don't know haw to do this backup. If i copy all my installation folder, it counts as a backup?
