hi there

usually a server has several network adapters! our esxi hosts have 4 of them. is it possible to configure them separate in case that there is only one adapter down prtg does not show the server as unreachable? i tried adding a second "ping" sensor but cannot configure it to a specific network adapter.

Hi there

Unfortunately at the moment there is something like a mixed mode. Some are configured with IPv4 Address, some with Hostname.

What Impact can this happen? Do I have to change everything to one mode?

With IP-Addresses that's normal, if the NIC which has the IP bound to, is down, you can't ping it. So can't PRTG. That's not an issue in PRTG, that's normal networking. However, if you use a hostname, and it has several IPs set to it in the DNS, it might work better.
